This is not a legal document. It is a human one. It touches on the specific commitments Remarkist makes to every member. It is an abridged version of fuller document you can find at policies.remarkist.com. We provide it publicly so that our community can hold us to it.
We will build products that serve fans first. Every feature, every pricing decision, and every policy will be evaluated against whether it genuinely serves the fan community or merely extracts value from it.
We will be transparent about how our economy works. And while the rules are still in flux we will always try to give ample notice on new changes and fill the gaps between updates.
We will maintain a community that has standards. We believe a community without standards is not a community. It is a crowd.
We will not misuse your data. You can delete it, and we will not use it in ways you did not consent to.
We will never run advertising on our products. You are the customer, not the inventory.
We will never sell your personal data to third parties.
We will never use algorithmic mechanics designed to maximize time-on-platform at the expense of your wellbeing. I mean, we can't even believe we have to say this, but here we are.
Treat other members with respect. Don't attack or harass, even if you feel a sense of justified retribution. Contribute honestly and accurately. Host events in the spirit they were designed for. And tell us when we get something wrong. We will listen and reflect, even if we ultimately disagree.
